THE VEHICLE OF TOMORROW

Integrating the latest mobility and technology trends in clever products is a challenge we gladly take on at Preh.

Among other things, it is important to design easily operable control systems for cockpits, in order to minimize the chance of distracting the driver. The keyword here is active haptic feedback. Another major topic is e-mobility and the electric vehicle range, which can be optimised with effective battery management.

ACTIVE HAPTIC FEEDBACK

Ordinary switches are progressively being replaced by touch surface alternatives.

Preh has combined the highest driving safety requirements with the user comfort of a smartphone. In order to minimize distractions for drivers, we have developed a scalable actuator technology.

This technology enables us to add active haptic feedback to touchscreens, which gives the driver an audible and noticeable response that is very similar to pushing any ordinary button.

E-MOBILITY

Interconnected technology, changes in user behavior, and above all a growing environmental awareness for intelligent, quiet, and environmentally friendly mobility solutions.

Paris, Shanghai, or Berlin: E-mobility is the global key technology for the car of tomorrow. One factor of success is the development of efficient battery systems, which we at Preh contribute our expertise to, in order to improve in this field. Some examples are control units for the battery management of electric and hybrid cars, as well as additional comfort functions and CO2 reduction, enabled by the 48-Volt technology.

FUNCTION SELECTION IN THE CONNECTED INTERIOR

The car of the future drives semi-autonomously and its interior will develop into an entertainment environment that will make travelling by car as comfortable and exciting as possible.

No matter if you want your car to be a private retreat or a mobile workplace - autonomous vehicles will provide much more comprehensive infotainment options. The result: The way of control and the display systems in the vehicle will undergo changes, e.g., by using seamless Human Machine Interface (HMI) solutions. This way, important information can be displayed on different screens in a similar way. Also, the driver can customize this information by creating his own user profile.

Connectivity, being online in the car, and telematics by Preh Automotive

CONNECTIVITY PLATFORM 1

At the IAA automotive fair, Preh showed how connectivity combines driver assistance systems with WIFI, mobile networks, and Bluetooth. Telematics via GPS makes autonomous driving in convoy of commercial vehicles possible and safer. A traffic jam will be detected in an early status, information will be shared with other vehicles. This technology, combined with driver assistance systems, enables autonomous driving.

CONNECTIVITY PLATFORM 2

Preh Car Connect presented new connectivity solutions for cars on the Automotive fair IAA. Via an app on a mobile device, it is possible to lock and unlock the car. If more than one person is allowed to use the car, the personal app informs the car who wants to drive it at that moment. Based on the individual driver profile all personal settings of the driver will be made. The adjustment of the seat, the rear mirror, but also personal playlists for audio streaming or individual destination on the navigation system - everything will be perfectly adjusted even before the driver enters the car.

The Joyson Group and its three divisions, which are Automotive Components (Joyson and Quinn), Automotive Safety (JSS), and Automotive Electronics (Preh and Preh Car Connect), were represented at a shared booth. Key aspects are innovative concepts for operating systems (HMI), augmented reality solutions, as well as applications for car connectivity.
