Connectivity Box for Vehicle-to-X and Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication
Dresden/Frankfurt a.M. Between September 14 and 24, the automotive supplier Preh Car Connect will present its range of products at the 67th International Automobile Fair (IAA) in Frankfurt/Main (Hall 5.1, booth A26). Preh Car Connect, a Preh Group company, produces augmented reality and mirroring technologies, as well as vehicle networking technology. A highlight of this year’s showcase will be the company’s new product, the Connectivity Box, a vehicle-to-x and vehicle-to-vehicle communication system.
According to a current McKinsey & Company1 industry report, networked cars, autonomous driving, and e-mobility are the trends that will significantly define and forever change the automobile industry. Industry experts estimate that by 2025, 50 million cars will be networked worldwide. Connectivity has become increasingly important.
“Currently, it is still a dream of the future that a row of trucks, for instance, can be interlinked via data networks to drive autonomously like a train along our motorways”, Stefan Gottschlag, General Manager and CTO at Preh Car Connect says. “Through new technology, we have set the course for vehicles to interlink and communicate with each other.”
The developers at Preh Car Connect are committed to developing future-oriented communication between vehicles. As a result of their efforts, Preh Car Connect developers will showcase the ‘Connectivity Box’ at this year’s IAA in Frankfurt/Main. The Connectivity Box makes communication from vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-x and vehicle-to-infrastructure a possibility. Product features, among others, are the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), LTE (Long Term Evolution) and UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System), as well as WLAN 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz / 2.4 GHz MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) and Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy. Adaptation to changing traffic conditions, distance mapping, communication with traffic lights, traffic control systems and congestion-and-collision alerts are already realized via the Connectivity Box. In addition, the company will present the integration of Netrange and Android Auto, as well as diverse mirroring technologies and augmented reality solutions at the Frankfurt IAA.
