Bad Neustadt, January 24, 2025 - After nine years as Managing Director at Preh's headquarters in Bad Neustadt and a total of 33 years with the Preh Group, Rui Marques Dias (68) is once again taking on management responsibility in his native Portugal: Rui Marques Dias has been appointed CEO of Preh Portugal in Trofa for two years. His role as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Preh Group in Bad Neustadt has been taken over by Zhao "Chris" Jiang (48). Chris Jiang most recently held the position of Director Global Manufacturing Operations at Preh.
The Chairman of the Preh Supervisory Board and majority shareholder of the Joyson Group, Jeff Wang, paid tribute to Marques Dias' special services to the Preh Group: "Rui Marques Dias has shaped Preh's development from a large medium-sized company to a global player for automotive electronics like no other. He was always there when the company needed him. Most recently, he postponed his planned retirement as CFO to take over the position of COO on an interim basis at the end of 2023. He is now ready to take on the CEO role at Preh in Portugal again in the current challenging market environment. After 33 years of commendable service to Preh, I feel particularly indebted to Rui Marques Dias for his tireless efforts.”
Rui Marques Dias had joined Preh in Portugal in 1989, where he had held various management positions. As Managing Director of Preh Portugal from 1999 on, he was responsible for Finance & Controlling, Legal, IT, Human Resources, Logistics and Production Planning. In addition to his duties as Managing Director of the Portuguese Preh subsidiary, the electrical engineering graduate has supported various Preh Group locations in the development and expansion of its activities. In 2016, Rui Marques Dias was appointed CFO of Preh GmbH in Bad Neustadt, from where he will oversee the growth course of the Preh Group to a significant extent. In 2024 and, before he retired from Germany, he performed also the tasks of COO of Preh Group, being responsible for Global Operations, Industrialization and Supply Chain. In 2025 he returns to Portugal as CEO of Preh Portugal, facing the challenge to lead its move to relevant E-Mobility production plant. In his role as CEO of Preh Portugal, he will be supported by the actual site managers Antonio Lima (Finance & Controlling) and Marco Pomar (Operations).
Preh CEO Charlie Cai welcomed his long-time colleague Chris Jiang to the new role: "I am very much looking forward to working with Chris in the new constellation. He has made a significant contribution to Preh's development in China from a EUR 26 million start-up in 2012 to a renowned player with a sales volume well into the three-digit million euro range. Chris Jiang has a total of 26 years of experience in the automotive sector and has held various management positions in R&D, Project Management, Sales and Purchasing. In addition to a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Tongji University, Shanghai, he also holds an Executive MBA from the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), also based in Shanghai.
