Preh appoints Norbert Bauer as new CTO – Strengthening from within

Bad Neustadt a. d. Saale. Preh GmbH has taken an important step to strengthen the automotive supplier's innovative power: With effect from August 1, 2025, Norbert Bauer (47) took over the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The appointment of this long-standing Preh manager is in line with the company's latest strategic policy of filling key positions with experienced internal executives. At the beginning of 2025, Preh had already appointed experienced Preh manager Chris Jiang (48) to the role of COO (Chief Operating Officer).

Norbert Bauer has been part of the Preh Group since 2011 and, as Executive Director R&D HMI, has been instrumental in the development of innovative operating system solutions since 2012. In his new role as CTO, he will lead the areas of Pre-Development & Product Management, Commercial Vehicles, HMI, E-Mobility, and Project Management.
"Norbert Bauer is the ideal person for us," explains CEO Charlie Cai. “He has been a driving force behind our innovative strength for over a decade and is a highly valued colleague. I am very much looking forward to working closely with him in his new role.”

The decision to appoint the CTO is part of a comprehensive restructuring program aimed at increasing the international competitiveness of Preh GmbH. The background to this is the ongoing difficult situation in the automotive industry and the weak overall economic development.
"We must continue to strengthen our innovative capabilities while at the same time positioning our organization to remain flexible, competitive, and innovative even under uncertain conditions. This requires far-reaching transformation measures to achieve greater efficiency in all areas," emphasizes Cai.
