Preh and the megatrends

Electromobility and autonomous driving are undoubtedly two trends that can claim to be called "mega." In its 100-year history, Preh has had to face new trends constantly and reinvent itself regularly in order to keep pace with current developments and always be one step ahead. This also applies to electromobility and autonomous driving. Preh has been producing battery management systems (BMS) for electric vehicles for more than ten years and is a pioneer in the automotive HMI sector, known for repeatedly presenting innovative center console concepts at major automotive trade fairs, including solutions for active haptic touchscreen feedback. "Smart surfaces" are also playing an increasingly important role in preliminary developments.

One of Preh's goals is to manufacture e-mobility components - such as high-voltage modules for pure e-vehicles and 48V elements for hybrid vehicles - not only at its headquarters in Bad Neustadt and its Chinese plant, but also at all Preh locations to meet the increasing demand for e-mobility through production.

In the automotive HMI sector, the smartphone-typical operating gestures are increasingly finding their way into the world. In order to make user operation easier and prevent his gaze from being distracted from the traffic situation for too long, Preh successfully relies on active haptic feedback technology, which returns tangible feedback when a function is selected. Preh has done real pioneering work with this technology for automotive applications and was one of the first companies on the market with its solutions.
