Preh control units in the BMW i3

The two control units from Preh, BMU (Battery Management Unit) and CSSU (Cell Supervising Sensor Unit), are essential BMW i3 battery management system components. The BMU and CSSU ensure maximum battery capacity in the BMW i3. This is achieved by continuously monitoring the battery cells' temperature and prevailing voltage.
The BMU records and evaluates this data and balances different charge states. This is an important part of effective battery management, because battery cells differ in their charge level depending on their age or due to production tolerances.

Preh's control units are used not only in the BMW i3, but also in other BMW four- and two-wheel models, including the BMW ActiveE, ActiveHybrid 5 and BMW C-evolution.
