The HV-Booster enables efficient and powerful charging of electric vehicles with 800V battery systems on 400V DC charging infrastructures. The innovative HV Charge Pump technology minimizes energy losses and ensures a high charging capacity. As an intelligent high-voltage DC/DC converter, it establishes the connection between different charging infrastructures and modern high-voltage batteries. This allows electric vehicles with 800V architecture to be charged flexibly at globally available 400V charging stations without having to compromise on charging speed or efficiency.
Preh is the first supplier to have successfully brought an HV booster into series production. Thanks to our many years of experience in power electronics, we develop HV boosters with high power density and maximum efficiency. Our systems offer scalable boost power from 100kW to 150kW, support bidirectional charging with up to 11kW and are optimized for the requirements of international charging standards. State-of-the-art SiC technologies and sophisticated thermal management ensure outstanding energy efficiency.
Our HV boosters are functionally safe in accordance with ISO 26262 up to ASIL-D and offer extensive protection mechanisms, including fast safety shutdowns (<0.5ms), overcurrent and overvoltage protection for maximum operational safety. The compact and modular design enables easy integration into various vehicle platforms, while a plug & play solution facilitates implementation.

In order to offer our customers tailor-made solutions, we have a variety of cooperation models:
Includes complete development including system design, hardware, software and mechanical design. We develop according to the latest automotive standards such as the V-model and A-Spice Level 3 and carry out test and validation processes in-house.
Our customers have the option of taking over partial developments, e.g. the software or certain parts of it. All other project scopes are taken over by us in accordance with the contractual agreements.
We offer comprehensive manufacturing services for complex automotive products such as BMS and power electronics. We provide support with our expertise in technology, industrialization, logistics and production and guarantee high-quality production in large quantities.
For less complex products, we take over production according to customer specifications. The customer is responsible for development, while we carry out production according to the agreed specifications.
Our high-voltage booster is a classic resonant converter that elevates the voltage of the charging station from 400V to 800V.
It is available in power classes between 50kW and 150kW. Due to its special topology, the booster achieves an efficiency of 97%.
This means that drivers of 800V vehicles can use the entire 400V charging infrastructure without any restrictions.
If the vehicle is charged at an 800V charging station, the booster switches to bypass mode. This enables charging capacities of up to 350kW.
