Founding of company in Bad Neustadt a.d. Saale on March 11, 1919, by Jakob Preh under the trade name Jakob Preh, jun. Electrical installation parts and accessories are manufactured in an old restaurant. The age of radios begins. Jakob Preh is one of the first German manufacturers to develop the “Preh Funk” radio receiver. The young company has 200 employees. |

Preh Potentiometer for radio sets, “Prehomat” and “Prehostat” TV channel selectors and a wide range of plug-in connectors set the industry standard for quality and reliability. In 1969, the company’s 50th anniversary, Preh posts record sales of 92 million German marks. In 1988, Preh enters the field of automotive electronics. |

In 1993, Rheinmetall Berlin AG acquires the controlling interest in the Preh plants. By 2000, Preh has a turnover of €220 million and already employs 1,970 employees in Germany and abroad. The focus is on intelligent mechatronic solutions. |

Following the expansion to the USA, a new production site for the automotive division opens in Monterrey (Mexico), in 2005. In 2009, a new plant opens in Romania and in 2010, the joint venture begins with the present majority shareholder Joyson Investment Holding Co., Ltd., based in Ningbo (China). |

Since 2012, the Liaoyuan Joyson Electonic Corp., a listed company at the Shanghai stock exchange, is the sole shareholder of Preh. 2016 Preh takes over Technisat Automotive (Preh Car Connect) and generates sales of more than 1 billion Euros. 2017 the PIA division is placed separately, outside the stock exchange listed Joyson automotive group. 2018 Preh acquires Kongsberg Automotive’s E-Power division (Preh Schweden AB). |

In its 100th anniversary year Preh Group achives new record sales of 1.5 billion Euro. The location at Dippach in Thuringia, originally part of Preh Car Connect, remains within Preh Group whereas the PCC locations at Dresden and in Poland become part of a completely new division within the Joyson Automotive Group by 31 December 2019. |
