Preh presents new generation of its haptic rotary knob at IAA Mobility 2023

Bad Neustadt a. d. Saale. Automotive supplier Preh GmbH is represented at this year's IAA Mobility in Munich with a meeting area for customers and journalists in the "Future Mobility Pavilion" in hall B1, booth B40. Preh's focus is on the "Placeable Knob" - a removable rotary knob that can be placed anywhere on the touch screen, center console or door control module. The approach opens up flexible possibilities for multi-modal operation that have never been seen before. According to the motto "almost everything can, nothing must", the driver is free to decide which form of operation is most convenient for him.

"This year, we decided to be present in the Future Mobility Pavilion of the trade fair and event specialist Cordition, because we find an interesting environment for our key competencies HMI and E-Mobility here," explains Dr. Marcus Kneifel, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Preh GmbH. In hall B1, booth B40, Preh will be showing both series products and innovations from the areas of HMI and e-mobility. For discussions with customers and journalists there is also a separate innovation room available, with pre-developments on display.

Highlight "Placeable Knob”
With its patented 360-degree rotary-push-knob, Preh is demonstrating at the IAA how the frequently criticized distraction from road traffic during function selection via touchscreen can be decisively reduced with just one additional control element. The "Placeable Knob" from Preh's near-series pre-development can be used on different operating surfaces. It can also be ordered several times and the individual rotary dials can remain at their respective operating locations - as if they were permanently installed. In addition, a wide variety of personalization options are available: gold-plated, studded with rhinestones, or classically plain. Those who prefer to use a pure touchscreen can simply remove the knob and let it disappear in the glove compartment.

Further information on the Placeable Knob and the other product highlights from Preh will be available at the IAA.
